If You Like Fantasy Worlds with Magic, Cruel Royalty, and Lots of Killings

The author has done a good job of developing the fantasy world. Magic had been outlawed, but an intelligent and kind spirited leader decided magic should be available to everyone. However, there are rival societies and people are getting killed (a key ingredient for fantasy worlds.) There's a new queen, etcetera. This books seems well written and will probably be popular. However, I feel as if I have read so many YA fantasy world books that I prefer to focus on different categories of YA for a while.
