THE PRINCESS KNIGHT is an entertaining fantasy read. Gemma is a War Monk, worshipping the war gods and skilled in battle. After a prophecy arises about her sister arising to power, Gemma is pulled into a bigger battle with her sister's life at stake. A couple years later, Keeley now holds the throne, but the power struggles with other heirs continue. Gemma and Keeley are at the center of it all.
I do think it would be helpful to read the first book before picking this one up, but I really loved all the humor throughout. Gemma is a sarcastic, bold, and snarky heroine whose story I really enjoyed. There were a few scenes that had me laughing out loud, and I enjoyed the lighter tone along with the serious battles and so on. I enjoyed getting to know these characters and this fascinating fantasy world- there is a lot going on there.
There's so much camaraderie and great chemistry between the main characters, that it was a really fun story to step into. I would definitely recommend for fans of Showalter, as this has a lot of the same smiles and fun feelings while reading. Overall, this was a fun fantasy that I am curious to follow.
