The Princess Knight is the second installment of the Scarred Earth Saga. In this second installment, the focus is centered on Gemma Smythe, the Blacksmith Queen's (Keeley Smythe's) sister. Gemma is a war monk, which means that there will always be blood and death involved in what she does.

Gemma is tasked with recruiting as many sects and factions to build an army that could potentially defeat the evil Queen Beatrix (Gemma and Keeley's sister.) Along the way, Gemma and her war cohorts encounter several enemies and in epic battle style, manage to defeat them. Yet, not all are defeated. There are still other enemies lurking in the land.

The Princess Knight, though full of action, didn't quite impress me as much as it's predecessor -- The Blacksmith Queen. Perhaps it is because I could relate more to Keeley Smythe's style and snarky humor. Gemma Smythe, on the other hand, is the diametric opposite of Keeley. Dark and angry. Nevertheless, The Princess Knight did not disappoint. I had a smashing good time with this novel. The humor made me laugh out loud and quelled the gory detail of the battles. It was a very enjoyable read and perfect for fans of fantasy.

I rated it four stars. I really liked it and look forward to the future installments of the Saga.
