I wasn't aware that bothe the queens were Gemma's sisters, so the synopsis did confuse me a bit. And there were instances referencing events that occurred in the two years between the prologue and chapter 1, so not much has been explained. But, this is only the first few chapters of the book, and I'm intrigued to find out why Beatrix doesn't have a soul or why Gemma didn't want to be a Brother anymore. I'll pick it up if I win.
