This book is a strange mix of a fantasy title that ignores most of the fantasy aspects in order to discuss relationships between people. For example, there are entire conversations taking place on battlefields, which are obviously not the time or place for conversations. There are people who possess magical qualities or aren't in human form but that fact isn't disclosed until 20+ pages into the book.
