I was fortunate enough to win an ARC of The Poison Season from Goodreads several months back. I read it and posted my review on Goodreads in September. This is the original review I wrote on Goodreads below:

The Poison Season was a really fast-paced, dual perspective story about an outsider boy (Jaren) and a girl from the magical wandering forest (Leelo) who take a risk in trusting each other and end up on a series of adventures where many dark secrets are revealed.

The writing is really solid, and the characters are believable and lovable. I thoroughly enjoyed the creepy atmosphere of a living, bloodthirsty forest and the savage behavior of its inhabitants. I had no idea when I first went into this read that it would get so dark and dramatic, but those last 100 pages kept me up way past my bed time! I had to know what would happen next!

I think this novel will appeal to YA fantasy readers who enjoy dark, gruesome vibes. There were things going on in this novel that were really intense.

The cover art is also absolutely gorgeous! I was very fortunate to win an ARC of this book from a Goodreads giveaway, and I'm really glad I had the opportunity to read it. I can't wait to pick up more books from this author!
