I did use my points to get this book on bookishfirst, partly because of the sample read but also because of the cover. It truly called to me and I am not disappointed at all. The characters were great and watching them grow as the story went on, it made me constantly cheer them on as they tried to get over the horrible process that takes place in Endla. And right from the beginning reading just what happens to non-magic beings, you can totally understand why Leelo feels what she does. It was a true story of growth and becoming your own person. And if you like stories like that then you will like this story. Being an easy read, made me read this fast and I could not put it down since I needed to see how it would play out. It was truly creative and I cannot wait to find more books from Mara Rutherford, because if they are half as good as this one it surely will be a treat.
