The plot of “The Plot” certainly was interesting and unique. The story started out slow but as the tale progressed I became fully invested in the plot and the mind of the main character, Jake. Jacob Finch Bonner is a novelist who is struggling to write a novel that is successful. While teaching in a third-rate program in a lesser prestigious school he encounters a student who unbelievably has written a novel worthy of publication. Unfortunately or fortunately for Jake this student tragically dies. Jake doesn’t let this opportunity go to waste so he publishes this novel under his own name and becomes famous! Maybe not a good decision as he now receives threatening messages that promise to expose him as a plagiarist! The story intensifies as Jake tries to rationalize what he did and searches for the person who is about to expose him. I thought the story was original with a few unexpected twists.
