This had a stunning PLOT with thoughtful insights on writing, teaching and publishing. The narrative was witty and clever with so many twists that I was constantly surprised and delighted by the story. I loved how we got to read pages from "Crib" while following Jake's story and I cared about character despite his transgression. I love when a book completely takes over my life and I don't want it to end. I could have finished The Plot in a day or two but stretched it out over a week because I am not at all sure I am going to find another book to keep me as interested. This is the kind of book I can see being developed into an 8 part mini series because there are so many characters tied together and each one of them is interesting. I must admit I sort of saw the ending that was ahead in the last 50 pages or so but that didn't make the book any less powerful, masterful or all around entertaining. Fabulous book.
