It Was Good, Not Amazing

I won this book in a giveaway, so I was excited to read it because the premise really intrigued me. The academic setting and the tension and stress that I was anticipating from The Plot was the main things I enjoyed in this book.

The Plot was such an interesting novel about morality and right versus wrong, how to live with guilt, and the impact of our decisions on ourselves and others. I really disliked Jake (the main character), but I think that was the point. Nobody in The Plot is a likable character, and I was pretty annoyed and angry at times with all of them (which I strangely enjoyed). I review plenty of books, and I get sent books often from publishers in exchange for reviews, so I really appreciated the behind-the-scenes look at the publishing industry! I wish there was more of it.

The main reason this book wasn't a favorite of mine was that most of the plot twists were extremely predictable. I don't read many thrillers, but even I managed to predict the plot twist at the end. I wish I was more surprised.

Overall this was an interesting book, so if the synopsis sounds like something you would enjoy, I would recommend it.
