Jacob Finch Bonner is a writer whose first book was praised, but now teaches in a second rate MFA program, after his second book fell flat. The Plot is skillfully paced, ramping up from a slow burn to a high intensity fast-paced denouement. There is twist within twist. Even the title has a clever double meaning. The commentary on writers, the publishing industry and the literary world makes The Plot even more interesting.
