This was goooood. A slow start in the beginning, but picked up in part three and I couldn’t put it down after that. I had a theory in mind for the first two parts of the book but changed it almost as soon as one of the new characters was introduced. While I wasn’t wrong in my guess, I had no idea that there would be so many twists and that it would get so dark.
The end broke my heart a little bit but I’m not sure how another outcome could have been practically pulled off (though I wish!). My biggest issue with the book was that Jake seemed to lack some serious common sense sometimes. There were points where he seemed so out of touch with the real world and so flabbergasted by “normal” social interactions that I really questioned his intelligence.
I think there was potential to out the antagonist, and it could have been done by multiple characters. I think that would have been really interesting to see happen!
