The Plot features a book within a book. Jacob Bonner is a bit of a one-hit wonder. He wrote a prize-winning book when he was younger, but is starting to feel downtrodden by his inability to publish follow-up novels of any worth. Until a plot lands on his lap. It's not his, but he is sure that he can get away with using it to re-launch his career. And so he uses it... but it's not his plot, and now someone is secretly calling him out on it.

I love books about books- I think it takes an author some confidence to be able to pull of this type of book. The beginning has a slow start- you feel the main character's life falling apart and his self-pity. Maybe we're meant to feel as if we would do the same thing if the situation happened to us in our own careers. Would we pass up the chance of success at the expense of someone else if that someone else was no longer alive? Either way, this book is an interesting way to look at it!
