Jacob Finch Bonner, whose first novel was a notable success, is now returning to Ripley campus to hold a symposium for would-be writers. Jacob was sure that he would be successful and his first novel seemed to prove that. A second novel received little recognition and his third and fourth were rejected, leaving him bitter and judgemental. Having tasted success, the new manuscript penned by a student is a temptation to regain what he lost that he can not pass up.
