Both the cover and title of this book are simple enough to not have any idea what the story is about without reading the synopsis or excerpt first.
I believe from reading the synopsis that this book involves a teacher who steals his student's work and claiming it as his own, but I would not guess yet even after reading the excerpt. The writing feels as though I am reading a non-fiction biography and not a piece of fiction, but I am intrigued to read more!
I also laughed out loud that the excerpt even referenced review copies of books!
