Let me begin by saying that I love the cover of The Plot! It is so simple, yet it draws you in making you wonder what this novel is all about. Even the title, The Plot, is simplistic, which has me flipping the book over to read the synopsis.

The synopsis sounds exciting and got me very excited about this novel. I was ready to dive right in!

After reading the first two chapters, The Plot, starts out very slow. I found Jake to be a not very likable character. He is extremely negative, which is understandable with his past and current situation with his writing, but it got to be a bit much to be at times. Like okay, Jake, we get it. You’re miserable and you hate your job! The bright light to me was the character of Alice. I’m not sure if she will play a bigger role, but I enjoyed reading about her. I also kept looking forward as to what was to come from the synopsis. I would definitely keep reading this book as the synopsis is so well written and has really sparked my interests, but I will say these beginning chapters were not what I had expected.
