This BookishFirst excerpt may be short, but I’m still intrigued! Yet, I’m not quite sure if I like the main point-of-view character, Jacob Finch Bonner. He comes across as pretentious, but I’m pretty sure that’s intentional on the author’s part. I do like Jake’s cheeky asides in his narrative, though!
