I wasn’t expecting to like this book, so it surprised me that the story hooked me. I’m intrigued about the history of Korean Americans in Hawaii now. It took a bit to adjust to the writing style, which seems to be somewhat lacking the spark that it might carry in its native language. For that reason, I’ll pass on reading it.
