Picture brides were women who would be married off to men in Hawaii only by her picture. This seems like such an interesting topic to research and I cannot wait to continue reading about Willow as she crosses the ocean to meet her new husband. These woman were so brave to take such an epic journey across the ocean to a new country and a new husband. I also loved the cover art, I think the colors of the sunrise represent a new beginning and the lone figure of the woman tells the story of the bravery and sometimes lonely journey these woman took to establish new lives.
