I love this so far! This is the first time I've read a book with this setting (1918 Korea), and it is fantastic. The writing is incredible, and well-detailed enough to place yourself into the setting and characters. I've never thought much of picture brides, only that I knew they were to exist, but never much more than that. I am excited to read a book that focuses on that, a Korean experience not only under Japanese occupation, but Hawaii, too.
