Willow is a girl from old Korea, a land made poor by its war with Japan. Japan won and Koreans lost what little they had. So years before this, many Korean men went to Hawaii for work. Those men now wanted Korean wives to come to Hawaii. Willow was one of those women. This is her story, and, in part, the story of all who must leave their homelands to have better lives.
