My frist impression of this novel was a simple one: I gotta know more! I have never heard of picture brides; it seems worse than mail-order brides. One thing I like about historical fiction is that it introduces me to new facts that I might not have ever known, like picture brides. Although it is fiction, it gives me a base so that I can do my own research and learn more about the subject. I cannot wait to read this book!
