I preface this review by mentioning that I was drawn into this book because it claimed to be The Silent Patient by way of Stephen King. And if you don't know, I really, really liked The Silent Patient. So in other words, my expectations were high going into this book.

I was not disappointed at ALL. With each step of the way, new information is introduced, but just a little bit. The bigger picture is always a few steps away, which is incredibly frustrating but also very engaging. I felt I couldn't even put down the book and found that towards, the end, I started reading faster.

The characters were well written and the plot as well. It was not too surprising for me, but surprising all the same (I think it's definitely because I watch waaay too many crime tv shows :)). I will definitely be on the lookout for more books from Jasper DeWitt.
