This book was definitely a lot of suspense and a little bit of horror, all thrown into one! Parker is a newly hired psychiatrist at a state run psychiatric facility. He quickly focuses on and wants to treat a mysterious patient that has been in the facility virtually his whole life. After a series of events and subterfuge, Parker gets his chance. Needless to say, chaos ensues.
This story is told through fist person blog like posts, and is a super unique way to tell the story. I enjoyed the way everything unfolded, and how things were told in a linear fashion.
The story was really creative and unique, and I haven’t read anything quite like it before. I definitely enjoyed the characters and the guessing games that you play with yourself as theories about what could be wrong with the patient come up and the are subsequently shot down by the narrator.
There wasn’t much negative about this book. I enjoyed it and would recommend it for an easy, short read for those who like psychological thrillers and horror novels.
