In this debut novel by Jasper DeWitt, I was fully immersed and couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I wanted to know more about Joe - the most feared patient in the mental hospital with some sort of unknown disorder that drives the staff to madness or worse, suicide. Doctors don't know what's wrong with him and haven't been able to properly diagnose him ever since he was admitted in the hospital decades ago.

I liked where this one was going, even with all the different possible disorders thrown around. I kept trying to diagnose Joe myself 😅, but then my theories were quickly shot down. Unfortunately, this story kind of lost me once discovering more information about Joe. I thought he was such an interesting character at first and I felt that the author could have done so much more with him. At only 205 pages, it's a very fast and easy read.
