When I read the first look of this book, I thought WOW I can't wait to read this book. It seemed to be creepy and almost true. I could picture someone writing these notes based on an actual patient they had come into contact with. While the story did creep me out, and it continued to follow the same writing style throughout (like an online journal), I became less invested the further I read. I feel this book would have been better as a short story than a novel. I felt it got repetitive and the author ran out of things to happen with the patient. It got less believable as I went on and was ultimately disappointed with the end of the story.

I was hoping for a crazy twist in the story, especially when it was likened to The Silent Patient. However, it just seemed to drag on before it was finally (thankfully) wrapped up. I will say I read the book quickly and it was fast-paced, but I also felt the need to skim.
