I really want to give this one a two, simply because the last chapter annoyed me *that* much, but honestly, up until that point, it was a really good horror. It had all the elements that made me just want to devour it...and I did, staying up past my bedtime to do so. I was straight up on the edge of my seat by the time he got to the mother's house, and the findings there pushed me to keep reading. But I really felt like the ending was a cop out. Still better than most modern horror.

After sitting on it for a few days, I can't say as I've changed my mind. I really liked the premise, and it was building up to a great manifestation of that premise, and then it tripped and fell flat. I was hoping that ruminating on it for awhile would change my mind, but that's not the case at all.
