Interesting and different at the same time!
I received this book as an ARC from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (won at Bookishfirst giveaway).
I honestly don't know how to review this book. Some things I really liked, others not so much.
It's definitely original that de narrator and main character tells the story as if he is posting in an online forum but for me, the not having separated chapters made it harder to follow up. Also, for this makes it less obvious for the turns in the story since he is telling you something and out of the blue BOOM! This is a personal preference - so not judging here.
I did enjoy the story, definitely gave me a "The silent patient" vibe with the new doctor getting to a new facility and trying to "cure/treat" the hardest patient. I think the story was really interesting because it definitely it has you thinking one way when you start and quickly makes you wonder if that is the right thing or not.
I did think it was a little bit too much that people would commit suicide for X reasons, but oh well, just my opinion.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and it's a really short read (around 200 pages and small in size).
Thanks again for the ARC.
Biggest trigger warning for me was child abuse.
