This is a short and subtly terrifying peek at psychology, fear, and the monsters and demons all of us are afraid to face. I loved the confessional format that made it feel more personal and intimate than the traditional narrative. This also gave me a somewhat false sense of security that I knew where this was all heading...when I really had no idea!

I can’t possibly think of anything more terrifying than a mental patient that somehow has the ability to know your deepest darkest fears and be able to exploit those to either drive you insane or to kill yourself. Oh, wait, I can think of something...the ending of this story! The more I think about it the more I realize the various possibilities it implies and how terrifying it would be if it was real!

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a smart, twisted horror novel that can easily be read over a weekend. I’ll be thinking about this one for a while!
