This novella is a gripping psychological thriller set in a state hospital but formatted like a series of blog posts. From the outset, you like the protagonist, Parker, who is fresh out of school and is buzzing with optimism and the drive to help people and solve the toughest cases. He starts his brand new, fresh out of residency with this enthusiasm in tow. When he arrives at his new job, he learns of this patient, Joe, who everyone is told to stay away from and no one is allowed to treat. Of course, Parker's spirit and curiosity get the best of him and he decides he has to find out more about this patient. Does he ever find out more about this patient, and himself along the way.

I did enjoy the brief-nature of this novel. So many of my recent reads have been bogged down and long and I really felt like this author got to the heart of the story and quickly. However, I did think the ultimate explanation of what was going on with Joe was a bit lacking. I was a bit confused. However, the book did leave off with a bit of an opening for a sequel which is intriguing. I did love the format of being a blog post and talking directly to the reader. I found myself wondering more than once if this was a real story that was anonymized or a work of fiction....which was the point I am sure. I devoured this book in a single sitting and am still thinking about it....it's that good.
