A psychiatrist at a insitution, Parker is determined to solve the issues with one particular patient in the hospital where he works., He details many of his patients in a written log but he becomes intensely dedicated and consumed by this one patient. In his determined quest to discover a way to help and heal what might be causing this patient's illness becomes the main element of the story line and the focus is on Parker as he embarks on this journey and through him and his doscoveries the mystery of the patient unfolds and becomes clear. It is a hard book to put down once you begin to read.
