This beginning excerpt very much had the feel of suspense I think the author was going for. Me, personally, I don't like suspense.
Part of me is very intrigued as to know what the end is, but then there's that other part saying nope!
The layout of the book is really interesting. It's almost like a diary entry. Definitely gives it more of a realistic vibe.
