‘Joe’ has been in-patient at a mental institution since he was six years old. Parker is a new psychiatrist and is convinced he can help Joe. Apparently this is the start of something gut wrenching. We start with Parker, a bright, new psychiatrist, getting a job at the state institutions where Joe is housed. Parker is like the cat (curiosity killed the ...) and is determined to learn more about Joe and save him- regardless of the warnings. This is told I first person, and I want to both keep reading and cover my eyes all at once!
