Ok so as someone who works in mental health, I am a sucker for psychological thrillers. Especially ones about people with mental health problems. There is something distinctly spooky about mental hospitals. I mean, tons of horror movies are set in them for a reason right? So far, I am really enjoying that the main character is a man (surprisingly hard to come by in literature these days) and I am really identifying with his assessment of the mental health system and what psych wards look like. They can truly be dismal patients. But I also love his initial giddy enthusiasm. Many of us are like that right out of graduate school...but oh how quickly it fades.
