I am a bit Stephen King fan and this sounds like a novel straight out of a mind that works in a similar manner. A character who is stuck in a mental institute and yet impacts those around him in such a profound manner is intriguing. It conjures up thoughts of Stephen King's The Institute as well as Revival. I enjoyed both of those books recently and would love to discover the ways in which The Patient tackles similar topics, and immerses us into a world of the unknown, along with a long taboo topic of mental health.
