I really enjoyed this book a lot. The character development is very strong and I loved Spencer. I think this book is very topical for current times, and brings up the very real issue of the trans experience in high school and athletics in general. The author's voice was really engaging without being pedantic, and felt youthful which is so important for a young adult book. I think that this particular story will be helpful to have in classrooms and schools, to help address issues in schools and host discussions with students in a very developmentally appropriate way. Overall, I really enjoyed the book. I flew through it in about a day and wanted to go back and annotate my favorite parts. I look forward to seeing future books from this particular author, and I'm already recommending this novel to my friends and family because of how much I enjoyed it.
