This book was first of all, a true delight! I thought it brought a really unique point of view through the main character. Spencer is trans and falls in love with a boy who has a super Christian family. They first start of as teammates who don’t entirely get along, but as they start to grow closer, Spencer realizes that Justice is really just a sweet marshmallow who loves soccer as much as him! The message behind this story is so powerful. Spencer is faced with a number of tough decisions and is able to make a great change in his school and community. It’s also a cute coming of age story showing an adorable couple and the little moments they share together. The side characters are all so fun and accepting. I really like the scenes where the whole soccer team hangs out together. Going along with this, the team is so supportive of Spencer and sticks by him side as he makes history at his school!
