I was really excited to read this book and it did not disappoint. The plot was great and is very important with current events as they are. That alone is worth the read for people. Other than that, I really loved the main characters and the relationships between them and the team members. There were some genuinely great moments of humor along with emotional parts that kept the balance.
There was only one thing that sort of detracted from the entire thing and that a lot of the important plot points seemed to happen off screen. We started off with the main character coming to a new school after an incident in the other school, but we barely talk about the incident more than a passing mention. The love interest deals with their family issues which are crucial to the book almost completely off screen and the main character was told about it through the love interest or other people.
