Whew! That was electrifying! The story is dark, in a sense that Abby is experiencing lucid dreams or hallucinations. At times I get confused with every dream she has because it seems that she’s “meeting” the person in her dream, and that person has also dreamed it. Literally, “see you in my dreams”-feeling.

I struggled reading this as it’s weird enough and it leaves you wondering what the story is about, what is the moral lesson, what drives Abby to behave that way.

Abby is obsessed with her best friend, Elise, and decided to book a one-way flight to see her. Ever the supportive and faithful friend, Abby accepted Elise's offer to be her Personal Assistant, since Elise is a rising starlet and would need someone she trusts to be with her at all times.

This story made me cringe in a positive way as well as got me on the edge of my seat - nail-biting and all that - I want to see what will be the ending of the story for Abby and Elise (so I stayed up late reading this). I also expected some backstory on how Abby became so dependent on Elise that she praises her and sees only her.

While in the middle of the story, I have wished Abby to detach from Elise and finds her true happiness without having to depend and get obsessed. I feel sad for Abby that she seems to have her world revolve around Elise. So when she met a guy and have dated him, I was wishing for her happy-ever-after ending.

A lot has happened and in the end, Abby, knowing she can’t have Elise all to herself, she took something (or should I say "someone") so precious to Elise and kept it and made it as her own.

Sadly, I didn’t quite get the essence of having the Epilogue. It wasn’t an eye-opening. There wasn’t “Ohhh, that’s why!” or “Didn’t see that coming”.
I was just left confused and annoyed. The director expected this to happen and accepted Abby easily.

Don't get me started on the lucid dreams - IT WAS WEIRD. (Well, all dreams are weird - literally)

The writing used is in the second person. Abby which is the narrator addresses Elise using a pronoun of “You” which the reader would feel that Abby is talking to them and referring to them as Elise.

Will I read another book from this author? Definitely. The way she describes things is marvelous, she really builds the world and characters so readers can imagine the story better.
