When Abby Graven attends her small-town high school reunion on a whim, she reconnects with her former best friend, Elise, who seems to have the perfect life as a Hollywood actress. When Elise mentions that Abby should look her up when she's in L.A., Abby decides to leave her solitary life behind and shows up on Elise's doorstep. While there, Abby discovers that Elise's life is not as the magazines would make it seem and does her best to grab hold of the success she knows she deserves.

Hmm. The Paper Wasp by Lauren Acampora was very well-written. Acampora was able to create wonderful descriptions of everything and set a scene incredibly well. However, I found the story a bit lacking. I was intrigued enough to keep reading, but found myself saying "huh?" often. There were some very bizarre parts that just left me confused (which maybe was the point), but it left me a little unsure what my overall opinion of the book is.
