I was quite excited to receive this book, mostly because it covered the basics of an art project I've wanted to do for a while. If you're struggling with ideas or a beginner in the world's of mixed media art, this book is definitely helpful. There are entire sections dedicated to helping open yourself up to the creativity you need to conquer a project about yourself. If you're only interested in part (like mixed media or just painting for examples) there are just a few pointers to help you on your journey. The only thing I doesn't really enjoy, which made me not really enjoy the book, is that it's written almost clinically. I felt as if I was being lectured in art concepts as I read and that really wasn't helpful. In the end, the book is helpful, however, not quite as helpful as I'd hoped.
