What do you do when the other woman is your significant other’s mother?

When Emily meets Adam, she’s swept into an epic romance where everything is perfect. They are so in love! Soon they’re planning their wedding, and this is truly where the trouble begins.

Adam is the apple of Pammie’s eye, and everything she does seems to undermine and sabotage Adam and Emily’s relationship. Emily is extremely naive and continues to ignore multiple red flags, and continues to try to make nice with Pammie since it means so much to Adam. However, Pammie continues to make trouble, attempting to call off their wedding, stealing the spotlight from Emily, gaslighting her, and more, all while Adam looks on and sees no problem with anything his mother does.

There are several continuity errors, and many repetitive cliches. Emily is a not a strong character and more of a hand-wringing type and that is something a lot of readers will have a problem with. However, I really enjoyed the book despite all of that, and even though it’s been almost three years since I first read it, it’s a book that has stuck with me.
