I'd heard lots of love for The Other Woman by Sandie Jones, but unfortunately it fell a little flat for me. It's possible I read it at a time I was a bit burnt out on domestic suspense/thriller novels, but I found this book to be a bit slow and predictable for most of it.

The story follows Emily in her whirlwind romance with Adam and her shake relationship with her soon-to-be mother-in-law, Pammie, who seems to hate her before she even has a chance to get to know her. We see many cringeworthy situations where Pammie and Emily are at odds, while we try to figure out why Pammie seems intent on getting rid of Emily.

While the overall plot was interesting and had a good twist at the end, I felt it was a bit heavy-handed with Pammie's behavior, which seemed absolutely ridiculous, even give the circumstances.
