Librarian: This feels like the kind of book that will be popular with the mystery/suspense/psychological thriller crowd. Fans of books like Gone Girl, Girl on a Train, etc. should enjoy this one. It feels like the type of book that will become the focus of book clubs, so stock up on multiple copies.
Reader: Another day, another psychological novel, with a slightly unstable, not totally reliable female narrator and a (not particularly logical)"twist" ending. I'm honestly getting kind of sick of this book. It's starting to feel like writers aren't allowed to have any other type of protagonist. And well I love having an ending that surprises me, it would be nice if the end felt even slightly logical. This one doesn't. Instead it just feels like an attempt to be trending. I will be VERY glad when this trend ends.
