4.5/5 - Compelling, fast paced suspenseful thriller with the kind of plot that keeps you guessing until the very end, even when it seems the entire book is heading in one direction. Emily is dealing with the literal mother of all terrible apron string moms. The woman is a pure psychopath, and is doing everything she can to drive her away from her son. Things draw to an incredibly chilling climax before everything is tied up with the beautiful bow of closure. The characters are complex and fleshed out, the story is gripping and really pulls you in as you're reading it. This is right up there with my favorite thrillers of the year. Things can get a bit confusing because of the formatting due to the fact that it was an ARC but I'm sure that'll be fixed in the final format.
