I got married for the first time a little later in life (almost 40) and so I can relate a bit to these characters. Adam, who seems to be a well-adjusted chap who keeps looking for love not realizing his mother seeks to torpedo any chance he has. Emily, a single sale professional, not looking for love, but thinking she may have found it. The First Impression ends with Adam taking Emily to meet his mother, where the hints of sabotage begin, with the casual (intentional) sharing of a photo of Adam and a previous love interest.
