I have to admit, I don’t know much about King Arthur aside from the whole pulling the sword out of the stone thing and something about Merlin. In this story, Merlin isn't Arthur's wizard. Instead, his daughter Emry is. Disguised as her twin brother Emmett of course.

Emry is a badass and she knows it. She shows Camelot what a real witch (she prefers wizard) can do. I loved Emry, Arthur, and Lance’s friendship and banter. Those three were my fave. The romance is a slow burn but it was nice getting there and once it hit, I wanted more.

This book gives feminism and queer representation.

Overall, this was a fun read. I enjoyed it very much. It's over 400 pages but I didn't mind it at all. It kept me entertained all the way to the end. I'm excited that this is going to be a trilogy because I really did love these characters.
It does make me want to learn more about the original story but I know Emry will always be my merlin wizard.
