I was super lucky to win a copy from Bookish First, and here is my honest review.

I was very excited to read a book about a bisexual main character and was not disappointed. Emry Merlin is fun, smart, and pretty dang badass. She's also very relatable when it comes to her commentary on the inequality between genders.

I also loved all the other queer characters like Lancelot and the real struggles that they endured because of it.

In all honesty, I really loved the character development in this book and although it started a bit slow, it really built the characters up and made them loveable.

My only problem with this story is that it suddenly ramped up into action/adventure instead of the slow burn romance that it basically was in the beginning, and all of a sudden things were happening and the plot was advancing, only for nothing too life changing to happen. I understand it was to set up the next book, but I feel a little sad that it wasn't a mostly standalone piece. It felt like the plot was too rushed so that it could be cut off into a next book. I suppose I just wish it had a more concrete ending.

Either way though, it was a great and enjoyable book!
