Thanks to Bookish First for the chance to read and review! Honestly, I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did, I've been burned on Arthurian legend retellings before. This was a fun time! It's done with modern language and a modern sensibility, but still roots itself in the legends that we know.

We get different perspectives throughout the book, although our main two are Arthur and Emry and to me, when you have a larger cast putting things in different perspectives allows you to know the characters a little bit better. Each had a different voice, and each felt like their own character with their own ambitions, wants, and desires. Bonus points to Lance, who got to shine as Arthur's friend and brother. The characters felt like teenagers too, who made stupid mistakes but who I ultimately rooted for.

I would totally read the sequel and look forward to it!
