This is the Arthur retelling I have been waiting for! Firstly, I must say, the TV show Merlin portraying the infamous wizard as a young character who has a fresh perspective on Camelot and it's happenings was a brilliant idea and I love that a lot of books have taken that concept and run with it.

I love love love this take on Merlin as a bisexual teen girl who enters Camelot in the place of her brother and forms relationships with the iconic characters we all know and love from the classic. I found her to be a relatable and fun main and I love that this version of Prince Arthur actually has personality and isn't just here to be a reactionary prop.

The world-building (one of my fav aspects of any book) is also amazing and you feel as though you're right there with the characters. An amazing main character, a fun supporting cast, rich world building, and a fresh spin on a classic!
